April 24, 2020 I-Cube Explore Program

Indonesian Night was held on September, 28, 2019. The stars outside the window flickered, we heard the melodious music, saw cheerful smiles and smelled an enticing aroma.

The outdoor platform was decorated with full of star light and the wall of the activity room are covered with Indonesian landscape photos. With warm light and Indonesian music, Indonesian classmates warmly welcome the participants, a beautiful Indonesian night started.

An enthusiastic and interesting Indonesian dance first lit the atmosphere of the audience, with the guidance of Indonesian classmates, everyone swayed along with the rhythm, singing and dancing. The icy ice of cultural barriers melts silently.

After feeling the charm of traditional Indonesian dance. Everyone can't wait to learn more

Indonesian students dressed in traditional clothes Batik share culture, etiquette, transportation, tourism and food in Indonesia. The vivid and detailed introduction caused everyone to yearn for Indonesia, and many students were surprised that Nabati, the cookie that they often ate was originally from Indonesia.

Similar to the China Batik in Guizhou, Indonesia also have their traditional Batik. Indonesian classmates patiently guided participants to do Indonesian Batik. They tried the wax melting and drawing process of batik production, and later did Melting wax, drawing, dipping, dewaxing, drying on kerchief. The kerchief was not only a landing place for participants' art, it’s more condensed by the volunteer's behind work and the friendship between China and Indonesian.

After doing the Batik, participants enjoyed Indonesian food prepared by Food Club. Alluring aroma was brewing in the air and rich flavor spread at the tip of the tongue. While enjoying the food Chinese and Indonesian students have a great conversation to knew more about each other. Later the participants came to the Mini Cinema to enjoy the Indonesian movie with popcorn and snacks.

Attentive care of Indonesian friends, volunteers’ dedication and Food club’s help, thoughtful preparation of the organizers and students’ active participation, contributing to the beautiful damask of Indonesian Night. It also came from Muser’ s care and respect, and participants were also infected and affected with love, gratitude and mutual understanding.
